If you are an individual involved in the arts and looking for funding to complete a project, mount an exhibition, put on a performance, conduct research, or anything else arts-related, Grantseeking Basics for Individuals in the Arts will show you how to:

Identify funders in the arts.

Explore the option of fiscal sponsorship.

Create a step-by-step plan to find funding for your needs as an individual grantseeker.

- Tips for Grantseeking Success with Denise Tassin, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Denise Tassin, an artist who has been successful in getting grants, shares what she has learned along the way, addressing such issues as how to learn about grant opportunities, how artists can manage grants paperwork, tips for promoting your work, and even how to handle being turned down. Ms. Tassin, a visual artist, has received four Individual Artist Fellowships from the Maryland State Arts Council in the areas of drawing, installation, and painting. In addition, she was the 2005 third place winner of The Trawick Prize.
- Networking Reception, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Stay to network with your fellow artists! There will be refreshments and door prizes. Foundation Center staff members will also be on hand to share their favorite tips and resources.
