    Established by the Mayor's Volunteer Center in partnership with United Way of New York City, VolunteerNYC.org serves the dual purpose of providing meaningful volunteer opportunities for New Yorkers and providing nonprofit organizations in New York City the opportunity to post their volunteer needs and publicize the services provided by their organizations. By tailoring this website specifically to New York City, its database allows visitors to search within their own boroughs and zip codes and get travel information for posted opportunities.     Audubon Partnership for Economic Development’s Commercial Revitalization Initiative Program consists of strategies to encourage local merchants, property owners and entrepreneurs to improve their performance. The CRI has a commercial improvement loan fund, which provides low-cost loans of up to $25,000, and offers financial incentives and co-cost technical assistance, such as architectural design, business counseling, training, legal referrals and workshops.

    New York Business Development Corporation is a privately owned corporation that works closely with member banks to make business loans that conventional lenders normally wouldn’t undertake alone. Interest rates are floating or fixed. Loans range from $25,000 to $1.3 million. Closing takes place within 30 to 60 days of application date.

    New York City Department of Finance’s Commercial Expansion Program offers a partial real property tax abatement for tenants that directly lease space in nonresidential or mixed-use parcels in areas zoned C4, C5, C6, M1, M2 or M3 in Manhattan, north of 96th Street, or in the other four boroughs. The agency’s Commercial Revitalization Program is a partial, real property tax abatement for tenants who directly lease space in nonresidential of mixed-use parcels built before 2975 and located in lower Manhattan. It’s Industrial and Commercial Incentive Program is a partial, real property tax exemption and/or abatement of taxes for property owners of industrial or commercial buildings that are constructed, rehabilitated, expanded or otherwise physically improved.
