Community Health Centers:
Community Health Centers (CHCs) are critical to providing quality health care to residents of low-income and medically underserved communities. CHCs have received programmatic support from private funders, but their capacity-building needs have been largely overlooked. Investments in infrastructure and organizational development of CHCs are much needed to sustain these institutions that are essential to providing health care to those individuals with limited access to quality services.

Specifically, the foundation's Community Health Grants Program seeks to support community health centers in the New York metropolitan area in one or more of the following areas:

  • Organizational capacity building such as leadership development, staff training and improving fundraising or other resource development capacity.
  • Activities designed to improve efficiency and effectiveness such as strategic planning; markets, operations and systems analysis; or performance measurement and process improvement.
  • Capital improvements including current plant renovations, acquisition and development of new space and information technology and infrastructure enhancements.
