Where can I find an electronic mailing list that focuses on fundraising?
"Mailing lists," "listservs," and "discussion groups" (terms that are used interchangeably) offer an excellent opportunity to keep current with events important to you by sharing information with colleagues and peers. Finding them however, can be a difficult process. The following resources will help find the appropriate fundraising discussion group for you.
- Charity Channel's Discussion Forums lists free nonprofit-sector discussion forums with tens of thousands of participants.
- The Foundation Center's Web Board, PND Talk, allows our Web site users to exchange resources and ideas.
- Mailing Lists and Discussion Forums from the Funding Center at Michigan State University offers a listing of grants related listservs and discussion forums.
- Topica, the mailing list directory, lets you search thousands of mailing lists. Try entering the terms "grants," "fundraising," or other appropriate terms in the search box to find those relevant to fundraising.
- YahooGroups is a free, searchable e-mail discussion group service. Try searching under the terms "foundations," "grants," "philanthropy," or other appropriate terms.
